Privacy Policy

We invite you to read this Octopay Privacy Policy (the “Regulation”) concerning the respect of the users’ privacy. This Regulation governs the use of data provided by users of the services, contents and functions offered by Octopay (the “Services”).

By using and/or accessing the Services, and by signing up to them, you agree with the provisions of this Regulation. The confidentiality of the Collected Information is our priority, we will only use it in conformity with this Regulation. The term “Collected Information” means any personal, confidential and/or personally identifiable information associated with the users of the Services.

Data confidentiality

Octopay is likely to collect the following information relating to the users of the Services:

  • Lastname(s) and firstname(s),
  • email address(es),
  • phone number(s),
  • cookies,
  • connection data and navigation data when authorized by the user,
  • subscription information and communication campaigns.

When creating a user account, the mandatory nature of the data is indicated during the collection by an asterisk.

Purpose

Collected Information is stored on secured hosting servers located within the European Union. The Collected Information is subject to computer processing in order to (i) adapt the content of the Services and allow a better experience of use, (ii) meet legal obligations, fight against fraud, and detect uses that are contrary to our general conditions of use, and (iii) improve and carry out the Services.

Data recipients

Octopay is the only one having access to the Collected Information. However, our banking partner may access certain Collected Information solely for the purpose of securing a transfer of funds and subject to keep such Collected Information confidential. The transfer of the Collected Information to third parties can only take place with the authorization of the user, at the request of the legally competent authorities or in the context of a legal dispute.

Data retention period 

Collected information by Octopay can be preserved up to five (5) years after express cancellation of the contract by the user, or following the non-use of the services for five years. 

Right of access, rectification and objection

According to the EU legislation, the user benefits from a right of access and of rectification regarding the Collected Information in which he or she is involved. The user can also, for legitimate reasons, object the processing of those Collected Information as long as they are related to him or her.

To exercise those rights, please contact Octopay team stating « Personal data » as the subject. We declare our commitment to handle your request within a maximum of 30 days from receipt of this email. 

Security

We take significant precaution in order to protect the Collected Information, so that no third party can access it. Computing servers on which the Collected Information are stored are subject to data encryption. 

Moreover, only employees from the commercial service and client service that received a specific formation dedicated to the protection of personal data have access to some Collected Information. 

The present rules can be modified in order to comply with the laws and regulations in force. In this case, modifications will be notified to the users by email, on Octopay website.
